Why Me????????????????
Okay, I am seeing a chiropractor about the recent collection of back issues and it seems we are making some progress. Granted, I am in the early stages but at least the pain is being minimized. Driving to Westminster 4 or 5 days out of 7 will take a toll on my fuel funds so I hope that stretch is relatively short. Got to see the X-rays and there is a disk that has almost totally deteriorated as well as a small collection of pinched nerves and some misalignment in the neck. Always knew my head wasn't screwed on straight! Thank goodness for insurance - no clue as to what this will cost me.
Just to keep me on my toes I had to take Hematite to the vet today. Hemi has been getting medicine for 3 wound spots on his flank. No clue as to how he got them but they are finally, after 2 + weeks starting to show signs of healing. So today when I went to get him for his morning medication he's upstairs and acting ODD. Just standing there, stock still except for his belly muscles, which are doing a bad imitation of rolling abs. So I scoop him up and off we go to the vet. Sigh.... blockage in the urinary tract. The vet and techs are amazed that I caught it so soon and I am relieved that I did catch it early, but none of that eliminates the large vet bill for care and the requirement for SPECIAL DIET FOOD. With 2 cats now on this SDF it will get real pricey, real quick. I need to look into different food for the whole pride to see if there is someway I can minimize future possibilities of more of this blockage business happening. On the good side - the cats have adopted the fountain for their water and are hopefully drinking more water because of it. More water, fewer blocking possibilities.
Is there an up-side to this week? Well, sort of. Grocery shopping was cheaper due to many of my usual purchases being on sale. I'll take that as a good thing.
I suspect I need to look into a part time job to supplement the catly costs and maybe even put away some funds for ME. Okay - whining session is over. At least I'm not involved in any politics!
