“What did you see?” Jo Lupo asked the man in front of her. She hated it when civies walked in to Eureka. It only meant a headache and paperwork that she had to do, in addition to making sure that the intruder was taken care of.

The short red-headed man across from her gave a shrug.

“Enough,” he answered, managing to convey more in a word than most people did in several sentences. Jo sighed and rubbed her forehead, already feeling a headache coming on. It was starting to look like it was going to be one of those days.

Title: Next On the Midnight Hour
Word Count: 100
Fandom: Angel/The Kitty Norville Series

Prompt: Fear for whedonland  Big Bang.

“Next on The Midnight Hour, we have a special guest with us. Once one of the most feared vampires in the, he’s now the head of a private detective agency. Our interview with Angel next.”

Kitty Norville switched off her mike as the local station as they went to a commercial break. Across from her, her guest for the night smiled. She returned it, trying to ignore the nervousness she always felt around vampires. Her inner wolf recognized a fellow predator. Seeing the blinking red light, she turned her mike back on with a relieved mental sigh.

“And we’re back.”

Title: Setting the Story Straight
Word Count: 200
Fandom: Buffy/Star Wars
Challenge: #102 - Give Me The Microphone
Prompt: Author's Choice for whedonland  Big Bang.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon owns "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and all related characters; George Lucas owns "Star Wars" and all related characters; I own nothing.

“Ah, Commander Summers, there you are.”

Buffy winced at the sound before slowly turning around. Looking down, she spied the current bane of her existence: HoloNet reporter Den Dhur. She had been trying to avoid him ever since his arrival on Felucia. He had managed to corner Obi-Wan and Anakin earlier for interviews and had been chasing her ever since.

“I told you, I’m not interested,” she answered, going straight to the point. She was tired, she was hot, and she really wasn’t in the mood to talk to a reporter.

“But it’s just a few...” the Sullustan began before Buffy shook her head.

“No, nope, and never gonna happen,” Buffy interrupted. “I’m not doing a interview.”

“That’s a shame, since I wanted to confirm that story General Skywalker shared.”

Buffy narrowed her eyes, thinking hard. There were far too many stories that Anakin could have shared, but that meant doing the damn interview to find out which one.

“What do you want to know?” she asked, forcing the words out, promising herself vengeance on Anakin for this. Dhur smiled, pulling out a recorder.

“What really happened when Obi-Wan Kenobi returned from the dead?”

Yep, Anakin was a dead man.

Title: With Only Hope Left
Word Count: 100
Fandom: Buffy/Star Wars
Challenge: #103 - That Thing with Feathers
Prompt: Torture for whedonland  Big Bang.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon owns "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and all related characters; George Lucas owns "Star Wars" and all related characters; I own nothing.

Darth Vader studied the woman before him as she rubbed her neck and tried to catch her breath. A determined face peered out from a wall of greying blonde hair as her green eyes met his mask.

“Why do you insist on fighting?” he demanded taking a step closer. She had lost nearly everything: her family, her planet, those she loved, and she still would not yield.

She gave a raspy laugh, which quickly turned into a cough.

“Because I have to have hope that tomorrow will be better,” Buffy Summers told him. “Because otherwise, what is there for me?”

Title: Murder in the Park
Word Count: 200
Fandom: Buffy/Castle
Challenge: #103 - That Thing with Feathers
Prompt: Author's Choice for whedonland Big Bang.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon owns "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and all related characters; ABC owns "Castle" and all related characters; I own nothing.

“Why are there so many pigeons here?” Buffy asked Dawn as they waited at a crime scene. It was completely by accident that they had stumbled on the two bodies as they walked through Central Park that morning. Buffy planned on giving her statement and moving on. She and Dawn were taking a well-deserved vacation, and she wasn’t going to let a few dead bodies stop that plan.

“No idea, but they can go away now,” Dawn answered, wrinkling her nose at the birds. They were everywhere they went, the most reliable thing other than death and taxes.

Movement beyond the yellow crime scene tape caught her eye. “Finally,” she muttered, watching a group of people she hopefully assumed to be the detectives in charge of this case walk towards them. Buffy’s eyes moved over the three taking the lead--two men and a woman--before freezing on the fourth.

“Tell me I’m hallucinating,” she whispered to Dawn.

“If you are, then so am I,” Dawn answered as the man with Caleb’s face walked towards them, talking freely with the female detective.

“Great, just when I was starting to get used to a supernatural-free vacation,” Buffy complained under her breath.

Title: Don't Blink
Word Count: 100
Fandom: Buffy/Doctor Who/Robin Hood
Challenge: #103 - That Thing with Feathers
Prompt: Confusion for whedonland  Big Bang.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon owns "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and all related characters; the BBC owns "Doctor Who", "Robin Hood" and all related characters; I own nothing.

Buffy had no clue how she got here. One moment, she was checking out some creepy old house with way too many stone angels. She had been looking in the garden when she felt something odd. Before she could place it, she had blinked and was standing in the middle of a forest.

Hearing footsteps, Buffy turned around to see a man pointing an arrow at her.

“Who are you?” he demanded.

“Buffy. And who the hell are you?” she replied curtly, gripping the Scythe tightly.

“Robin of Locksley,” he answered as the pit in Buffy’s stomach grew. Well, shit.

Title: Let Me Rest in Peace
Word Count: 100
Fandom: Buffy/Riverworld
Challenge: #104 - So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu
Prompt: Heartsick for whedonland  Big Bang.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon owns "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and all related characters; SyFy owns "Riverworld" and all related characters; I own nothing.

Buffy tries not to feel the heavy gaze on her as she carefully bandages a wound, tries to ignore the pungent scent of blood, fear, and death in the air. Everybody who could walk has already fled, leaving her alone with the bodies scattered around her.

Getting to her feet, she starts to walk off before stopping by a woman. She hates to admit it, but she can’t save everybody, especially here. Death on Riverworld might not be permanent, but it was just as destructive.

Until next time, rest in peace, she thought, taking one last look before walking away.
