Phone calls.

I wrote this on May 3rd. Apparently I never posted it. Here, have a posting.

I didn't get up till 2:30. These are the calls I managed to make.

I spent 33 minutes (including hold time) on the phone with Anthem about the check that I called about on March 26th. I had sent them HIPAA release information, and other paperwork, and never heard back. I spoke to Robert this time, and he gave me a tracking number for the phone call. He's going to have to do some extra paperwork to get this check reissued, since it's been reissued once already (that reissue was the check I found in March). If I haven't heard anything by June 5th, I should call again.

I spent 22 minutes (including hold time) on the phone with United Health Care about the reissue for a check from August. I had sent them death certificate, surrogate affidavit, and I don't recall what else, mailed on March 27. I spoke to Jolanda (sp?) who was able to find that they had received it on April 9th, and did intake, but apparently they have now LOST the information and cannot access the paperwork by actual paper or their internal imaging. So I have to send it AGAIN.

I spent 22 minutes (including hold time) on the phone with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, again, about reissuing the escrow check in my name (or estate of). Previous person, who said to call after April 24th if I hadn't heard anything, was unavailable. Current person decided that they need the small estate affidavit in order to release the money in my name again. So now I have to send a copy of that (with some extra info). I have her name to send it attention-of, and she said she'd call me and let me know when they received it.

It's now 6pm. I can't call the lawyer in florida. I can't call SMG or AtHome due to business department hours.

The phone number on the letter for the Sewer Line Protection Plan got me a nice gentleman who gave his name and agent id number immediately. What is covered is Cracks, Leaks, Blockages, Root Invasions, and Sedimentary Deposits, from the foundation of the house to the property line, up to 10k for the sewer line itself and up to 10k for sidewalk and street repairs. (and excavation of line? Unclear.) It costs $9/month, and can be added to my bill, and I told the nice man I'd be checking my homeowner's insurance and making my decision then. I think it was about 5 minutes.

About then R came back from marketing, and gave me the mail which included the one bill that I was waiting on. I wrote out the check and it will go out tomorrow. I'm asking R to send it out so we get a receipt, because I've gotten late fees every month so far, and they give an average of 7-10 days between when I generally receive the bill (last day of the month-month/3rd, so far is the range) and it's due on the 11th.

Somewhere about here I took a migraine pill.

Also in the mail were two books, both from Amazon affiliates. One was a book in the Iron Druid series (I bought a bunch of them used so I can try it out) and .... "Simply Christian" by N.T. Wright. Looking at the packing slip, it was SUPPOSED to be SLaughterhouse-Five, 25th Anniversary Edition. I poked my order on Amazon, and they've refunded the money and don't want the book back. But dammit, I still don't have Slaughterhouse-Five.

To Do Tomorrow:
    Numbered cause importance
  1. Have R mail the ATT bill return receipt.
  2. Call SMG and tell them that the insurance is a'cumen, please hold on.
  3. Call AtHomeMedical and find out wtf wrt dunning from debt collectors
  4. Call Irma's lawyer again and try to figure out if the paperwork he sent me means that I won't get any money.
  5. Call aarp to see if their precious auto insurance would also cover the kids. If so, get prices, and consider joining up and changing car insurance soon.
