Title: My Happy Ending
Fandom: Once Upon a Time
Pairing: Emma/Regina (Remma or Swan Queen, if you will)
Rating: E for Everyone
Summary: Maybe happy endings do exist.
Disclaimer: I don't own a thing. I'm merely digging through ABC's toy box for fun things to play with. :D
A/N: Here it is, guys. The FINAL chapter. In all its short and sweet glory. *wipes brow* I've never written a fic this big, with this many chapters, so this is definitely a huge milestone for me. I got through it relatively unscathed. The Muse, however, probably can't say the same. LOL. Anyway, I thank you all again for reading and sticking with me. And I hope you enjoy. :)

Regina Mills has never really believed in fairy tales and happy endings.
She'd lost her faith in them quite some time ago, although exactly when, she didn't know. Henry, however, had never lost hope, not even once, no matter how bleak things seemed to be. Regina is convinced that that's the only reason she's standing here now, at the altar with one Emma Swan standing before her.
Regina's hands are trembling, and Emma takes them into her own, whispering her name and Regina looks up, immediately loses herself in big blue eyes and a brilliant smile that could light up the entire room. They're surrounded by family and friends, townspeople of all ages and backgrounds, some of them Regina never thought would even dare show up to her wedding. But here they all are, warm smiles gracing their faces, silently waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Emma's voice doesn't crack, doesn't waver, as she says her vows. Regina isn't so lucky. There are tears in her eyes, threatening to fall, but Emma squeezes her hands tighter and Regina presses on. It's something Regina has comes to terms with over the months, this feeling that with Emma at her side, she could take on the world. She's fairly certain she wouldn't be here right now if that weren't true.
When Henry brings them their rings, there are tears in his eyes too. He smiles at his mothers, gives them both huge hugs, and then scurries away to stand on the sidelines. It had taken some getting used to, this little family system that Regina and Emma had built for him, for them. Henry had been convinced, of course, that this was some kind of affront to his beloved fairy tales, that this wasn't how the Evil Queen was supposed to be defeated, but as the months passed, he became more and more accustomed to having two moms who very clearly cared deeply for him. Deeply enough that they put aside their initial hate for each other for something better. Something perhaps even more wonderful than fairy tales.
When the town officiant finally pronounces them married, Regina doesn't hesitate. She pulls Emma into her arms and kisses her, really kisses her, in front of everyone and it's right and perfect and there are people cheering and clapping around them, Henry loudest of all. When they pull away from each other, Emma whispers "I love you" and Regina knows, without a doubt, that Henry was right all along.
Happy endings do exist.
