(no subject)
Already mentioned via twitter, but some of you may have heard about or seen the news story about the shooting at an IHOP in Carson City, NV. If you're curious, it made national news (here's CNN's article, and here's the LA Times; there are dozens of others).
Husband's cousin was one of those shot. He was hit three times, and ended up with a severed artery and a shattered bone. He was in surgery, but it seems they were able to repair the artery and remove most of the bone fragments from the wound. He's in the ICU for now, but they'll probably move him to another part of the hospital sometime tomorrow. An orthopedic specialist will come in tomorrow and they'll look at what they're doing to repair the bone.
It's literally just hit the husband that all this has happened. Husband's father sent one of those emails about not ever knowing what could happen (he wrote it; not some forward), and it's kind of wibble-inducing. Think it's time for bed. Long day; lots to think about.
If anyone's inclined towards prayer or even just sending positive thoughts to husband's family (and friends and family of the other victims), it'd be appreciated. Thanks so much to those of you who've already done so/responded via twitter.
