But to hell with organization. I think I'll just type as thoughts occur.
Holy shit this is absolutely amazing. Yay Tech! Life in general is quite good. I'm keeping busy yet with enough time to enjoy myself. I'm doing a bunch of different things, and the recognition and rewards that they're bringing me are outstanding and refreshing. Hopefully it'll pay off in my search for internships and the like. Speaking of which, I need one. Know of anything or anyone? I need to start tapping my contacts, which are very, very abundant. ERT, here I come.
Yesterday at the Connect With Tech advising session I had no prospective students to advise, so I talked to the new communication coordinator for the econ school, Rina. We talked about how to get better and more recruits, better recognition, and better job placement. It certainly helped, and I think I won some extra points with the department by helping out. Good shit.
The weekend before last was incredible. I donated my 2nd gallon of blood Friday after lounging around on the couches. Then it was off to Six Flags. WOO! I went for free and even got an extra free ticket. Two Six Flags tickets for free? Fantastic! Afterwards I crashed early, around 1, so I could be up for the Troy game. Up I was. Nobody else in the house was. I ran around yelling and banging on doors at 10 am after a few of us (who don't live in the house) cleaned up. That didn't work. At 10:30 Zee and I pulled the fire alarm. I got so many death threats that day. I still get them on occassion. Then the game. Then I went home. I came back, hung out for a bit, then crashed early because I had no chance to recover after the game. Sunday I did a lot of work, then my first CWT session! It was fun, except my recruit bitch sucked. Oh well.
This past weekend kicked ass, even more than the one before. Friday I spent all night with Tiffany, which was fun, and afterwards I drank a bit at the house and just hung out. Saturday I did a lot of work, caught the OSU game, and hung out some more. Sunday was a lot of work once again, chores, and CWT. Woo!
Tonight I get to serenade Margaret Long's new little sister. WOOHOO! Afterwards it's CWT's fall party!
Let me tell you 'bout a girl I love. My, she looks so fine. Led Zeppelin aside, Tiffany's great. We just mesh so well, I'd say. We both relax so much when we're around each other, we complement each other, and we both care immensely. Although I definitely appreciate and enjoy all of her qualities, both good and bad, the little things in our relationship are what I like best. I've never really been with anyone who was touchy, and I'm usually reluctant to touch, but the way that she holds me and just places her hands on me randomly is breathtaking, not to mention a refreshing change. I could get used to it. Already this has been my 2nd longest relationship, and I've hardly noticed. Time has just seemed to stand still. Funny, our relationship reminds me of one I had with a girl a long time ago, but better in so many ways that I never thought possible. It's fantastic. Unfortunately, I'm definitely the 3rd wheel to her love affair with architecture. Patience is a virtue, I guess.
So now that you're done vomiting, let's talk about something manly. FOOTBALL! Georgia Tech is finally ranked, which is so friggin' awesome. I feel like we've been underrated all season, what with giving Notre Dame a run for their money who promptly proceeded to destroy Penn State, butchering Troy a lot better than FSU did, who ended up losing to Clemson, a team we typically perform well against, and completely slaughtering Virginia. However, this weekend's away game against Virginia Tech will decide the future of this season for Tech. If we win, we'll probably go on to erase our plague of 7-win seasons, maybe even contend for the ACC title. If we lose like we did last year, we'll just be the same team we've been for the past four or five years. A few big wins, most of the should-be wins, but too many disappointing losses. If we lose by a close margin, we may go on to have a good season but have no shot at the ACC title. It's a very, very important game. Luckily Virginia was a Thursday game, so we have a lot of extra time to prepare that VT doesn't. Unfortunately, VT's schedule thus far has been ridiculously easy, as the hardest team they've faced off against has been Cincinatti, so they may have been preparing for us all season.
Advantages for GT:
- Great defense, especially against passing which will limit VT's game to the ground.
- Much, much better O-line this year, which crumbled against VT's defense last year.
- Two of VT's players got suspended Monday, both of whom have been big players this year.
- Calvin Johnson. Enough said.
- A quarterback that, when he decides he can pass well, is an incredible wild card. One of the best sack evaders, VT's blitz-heavy defense may not amount to much. Indeed, against Virginia Reggie Ball actually went out as a receiver, getting a reception for a touchdown from running back Tashard Choice. It was a very, very strange play that confused the hell out of Virginia.
Disadvantages for GT:
- Virginia Tech's defense is one of the best in the nation.
- No home turf. Away games, especially at VT, suck.
- We have some of the worst special teams in the nation.
- Reggie is way too inconsistent. In a game like this where he'll have no time to think, he needs to stop making poor decisions and actually get the ball to the hands of big play-makers.
- Our running game will be 0, typically one of our stronger points.
It will definitely be a very interesting game. In other football news, OSU is kicking ass. Woot!
As a side note, SGA gave out free t-shirts right before the Virginia game. Sweet.
I'm pretty much welcoming Facebook opening up. Woo!
Wednesday nights at this bar called Aqua in Buckhead has $3 cocktails, and good ones to boot. New activity!
Less am I drinking to get drunk and instead drinking because I like it. That's not to say I haven't gotten drunk lately, but two things have changed. One, I get drunk a lot less, and two, it's for a different purpose. I like it better this way. Getting drunk every weekend can get old. I prefer just to enjoy it.
I dunno what else to say. There's probably enough, but I can't think of anything.
