The Wide Eye

Lies never rest, for they know
That should they sleep, should they
Show their lids and, relaxed,
Loose their bonds,
Lies become defenseless.

Lies never rest, for they die
Should they slip a little, lost they
Silently are swallowed by harshness, honestly
Harnessed they perish,
They die free before enslavement.

But lies are never fully free,
Needing friends and allies as often
They do. Companions
Bonding themselves
In life. Lies stay alive.

They hold their conversations
And games, to stay awake
And pass the time through eternity,
Entirely entertained forever, followed
By the foul enemy, Epiphany.

Lies never rest
For they have no need, they
Merge their backs into one, they
Take their time in fellowship,
And dream their dreams wide eyed.
