I'm counting on getting a lend of the Big Book after someone else has already read it, so no opinions yet. I find that I don't especially care any more after the last two. Meanwhile, I came home to find the Alastair Campbell diaries sitting beckoningly inside my bedroom door, and _that_ big fat book is truly compelling and addictive, although it's been spoiled to fuck by every newspaper in the land for the last week. The homoeroticism alone makes it worth it. Mmm, spin.
In more serious news,
braisedbywolves,
shermarama and myself will shortly be looking for a new flatmate.
Here is the Gumtree ad.
We live in a nice Victorian terrace house less than five minutes walk from Mile End tube station (Zone 2, Hammersmith and City, District and Central lines). The house is spacious, with a huge kitchen, cozy living room and reasonable sized light rooms, furnished with newish double beds and other basic furniture. It also has a little patio and a basement. There's a bath, shower, central heating, Freeview, wireless broadband and so on. We are fairly relaxed but also domesticated.
The neighbourhood is kind of half gentrified, which means you can get sushi and a latte (although probably not simultaneously, euch) but there is also a good parade of cash and carries and a 24 hour shop just on the corner. In addition to the tube connections there are easy bus links to Hackney and the Docklands and the 25 and 205 buses which are both 24 hour and take you into the city centre (which I gather is also bikeable). There is a nice park very nearby which has Regents Canal running through it, and Victoria Park is not far away at all. Other funky things like various street markets and Brick Lane are also within walking distance.
The rent is 420 pounds PCM excluding bills. We'd like someone to move in before the 19th of August.
Please let one of us know if you're interested, or pass this on to anyone who might be.
