Part of the reason I don't post on the boards anymore is just this. (Incidentally, I'm going to let loose a little bit which could be considered controversial and/or inflammatory, so screen as needed) I mentioned this to Djebati a little while ago whilst we had our nightly chat time, and I'm more than a little irritated. I'm sick and tired of people pussyfooting around the camps of fluffy-bunny pagans camped around the walls of our Temple. I understand, some people have differing viewpoints on things, and that's fine, we're tolerant of them and that's well and good. BUT....WE ARE KEMETIC ORTHODOX AND WE DON'T NECESSARILY AGREE! WE believe what we believe and we're just not going to fucking change just because IsisWiccan666 thinks that Osiris comes to her in a snowglobe of fucking Garfield.

That being said, I'm all for having a nice, separate place for the fluffs to talk about what they want to talk about, but what is supposed to be OUR doctrine and OUR religion SHOULD be kept to precisely that. Maybe if I didn't have to go through 80,000 pages of the fashion sense of the Gods I'd be a little more active.

Your point is good and your irritation justified, but I disagree that Wiccans or "fluffy-bunny pagans" are to blame. I see this fashion sense of the Gods nonsense coming from Beginners, Remetj and Shemsu alike, not just those pesky pagans from the outside. The Christian proverb about removing the beam from one's own eye first kind of has a point.

Oh trust me, I know. You make a very good point that there are some amongst us that do the very same thing, but as I said on the board, that's why there needs to be active moderation if anything's going to change.

I also want to say that there's a lot of *deadly* serious pagans/Wiccans out there that want nothing to do with the "fluffs", which come from just about everywhere. I'm not trying to target anyone in particular. I just really want the endless stream of irrelevancy to at least taper off if not stop.

Me too, me too. I'm just a wee bit touchy about Wiccans and pagans always being used as the bad example/scapegoat. Maybe that comes with being a deadly serious one. :)
