This was in lordseamus's journal, but it also applies to me:
If you are reading this you should know that I almost never reply to comments in my journal. I usually intend to, so I'll keep them in a special place in my inbox. Here they will remain for centuries at which point they are either deleted, because they are no longer relevant, or continue to be stored to await a response when I get around to it, thus letting the dust gather further, eventually leading to decay, where at some point the e-mail no longer exists and it is forgotten.
