Incredible weekend.
I'm still hearing echoes of all the music I listened too -- think my brain overloaded and it's running out my ears.
Too much to process just yet, but there were a few high points: the reaction to Rob Balder's "Rich Fantasy Lives", and the expression on his face; the stunt filkers at the concerts; the Interfilk Auction, and actually seeing the wenches in action; the Dead Dog dinner and the filk after that (I finally flaked out at 1:30 and it was still going strong).
I've been hearing about this con for a good 15 years, but this is the first time I was able to attend. It's got to be one of the friendliest places I've ever been; everyone was incredibly supportive of new filkers like myself. It was like coming back home to a home you never knew you had.
It was a milestone weekend for me personally as well. I entered a song in the songwriting contest (with a stunt filker to sing it, as what voice I have was destroyed by a cold). The subject was "Shipwreck" and there were about a dozen entries. I was stunned and amazed to get second place!!! (Insert major squees here!)
