He couldn't really remember the last time he smiled. He figured it had to have been before his mom died, or maybe before he had ended up in Hollow Bastion. That was, in fact, an absurdly long time ago; before his mom died, even. It was after his world was taken. After his dad disappeared. But it didn't help his fighting to dwell on the past, so, as he hacked through yet another heartless in the Second District, he pushed all thoughts out of his head. It wouldn't do to be distracted.
Squall--no, no it was Leon now, he had to remember that--pushed his unruly hair from his face. He had cut it yesterday, but even now, at the length it was before coming to Traverse Town, it seemed nothing more than an annoyance. Sighing, he rested his weight on his gunblade, once the swarms of heartless had waned. Lately, everything seemed nothing more than an annoyance. He wondered, vaguely, if it had anything to do with the lack of his best friend--who he hadn't seen in a while, mind you--before waving the thought off. No, of course it had nothing to do with the lack of Cloud. Why would it have anything to do with that?
Of course, he still couldn't help but frown a bit at the lack of the blond.
He kicked a random Shadow Heartless out of the way, glancing over at the blinking lights of Setzer's casino. As much as the man did help the them fight heartless--his magic was good, even Leon had to admit--he was a bit too flashy. And purple. The purple was a bit over the top.
He swung his gunblade at a heartless, slicing it in half. The rest of the heartless who had been mulling around him gave a shriek and sunk into the ground, melding with shadows. With a "Hmf" of approval, he headed to the door leading to the first disctrict. He needed a potion, and Cid was bound to have a couple extra lying around somewhere.
