Title: Waiting
Challenge: [234] Coping Strategies
Word Count: 211
Notes: I like Sora-mama fics. :D

She couldn't understand why there was a room at the top of the stairs, filled with scattered clothes and mish-mash of objects that could only belong to a teenager stretching out his childhood years. A boy-with pirate ships and wooden swords.

She couldn't understand why the house seemed so quiet; there wasn't any need for anyone to be crashing in and out or friends calling at all hours. She had her small group that met at the island club; it was a quiet group-older woman that had… well, they had children, the rest of them. She didn't… did she?

There was no reason for to keep the room as it was. She should really pack up all the unnecessary stuff that collected in there, but she couldn't bring herself to step too far into the room and disturb the waiting atmosphere. It wasn’t waiting for her and even though this was her house, she felt like an intruder.

Why did she strain to hear the voice of a child that wasn't hers? She stared out at the small boat that rocked in the harbor, fingers brushing over the name carved into the side. Her tears hit the dock as she read the name.

Why did Sora make her cry?
