Challenge: Non-challenge post
Title: Moogle Mastercard
Word Count: 653
Notes: You either loved or hated the card battle system in CoM. Think of this as a special card found in a special hallway where the moogles rent out space. The little businessmen are back, munny is a thing of the past, and good credit can soon go bad. Sorry for the length, I couldn't make it shorter.

There were cards in Castle Oblivion that were dangerous and dangerous. If someone had imparted words of wisdom to Sora on what to do when offered a particular plastic card, the young boy would have found a pair of scissors immediately, cut up said card, and have been done with the horror before it started.

But moogles were so very trusting. The booth that the little entrepreneur, name tag reading 'Mogki', sat at was unassuming and held the items Sora needed: potions, ethers, band-aids, and paopu treats. When Sora approached, the moogle stood up on his chair to see the customer better, pompom bopping from side to side.

"Hi. I need to buy a few things."

"Of course. May I introduce you to a new system that will overtake that of munny? If you need to make a purchase quickly, you can simply put it on this credit card, kupo." Sliding a blue card across the countertop, Mogki's nose wriggled in delight. At last, someone was interested in the credit card promotion. It hadn't been a bad business move to rent from Xemnas who had so courteously given the moogles the space for their business.

Sora's look spoke of minor confusion. "But I have munny on me now. A lot of munny. I don't need a card."

"Oh no, kupo. Munny is a thing of the past! Everyone uses credit now. Without credit, how can you apply for a purchase of a Gummi ship to call your own? Or even put a down payment on a house? By enrolling in this program," tiny paws handed a leaflet to Sora, "you can be one step ahead of your friends and just that much closer to a financially secure retirement fund. Everything is explained in the pamphlet."

Sora gritted his teeth. He just wanted a potion. One measly, simple potion. "Please, let me--"

"With Moogle Mastercard, you only start paying off the interest on your purchases a year after you bought them. And the more you buy from any moogle shop, the higher your credit will go, kupo." Pleased with the business speech he'd learned from Moghan, Mogki smiled. It was disarmingly cute.

Sora raised an eyebrow. "I only have to begin paying you back a year after I bought the item, no matter what it is?"

"Yes, but you don't pay me. You pay the company, kupo."

It sounded too good to be true. "For a year I don't have to bother about anything?"

"Yes."

"Can I buy those potions and ethers with this card?"

"Of course! This booth only deals in Moogle Mastercard transactions." Mogki's wings fluttered in excitement. When he next saw that cold scientist in the hallways, Mogki could snub him back. He knew he was charismatic enough to sign people up, oh yes he was!

Sora made his purchases, was shown how to properly swipe his card, signed on the dotted line, and filled out the small bit of paperwork needed for his address. Pocketing the new credit card and picking up the bag full of goods, Sora hurried to catch up with Donald and Goofy. Mogki waved goodbye, sat back down and felt a sense of accomplishment.

One year later

Safely back on Destiny Islands, Sora now had time to look through the mail that had been waiting for him. Thanking the Mognet moggle for dropping off the heavy canvas sack, Sora began sifting through its contents. One envelope stood out from the rest with the red words stamped Final Notice on it. A bad feeling settled in Sora's gut as he ripped it open.

Dear Mr. Sora,
It has come to our attention that you have incurred a heavy debt on your Moogle Mastercard. Please pay the amount owed by the printed date or else legal action will be taken against you.
- The Company

Sora's eyes flicked down to the credit tally he owed at the bottom of the letter, interest included.

"It's over 9000?!"
