Fuu is generally a very mean girl. Rude and violent and rarely looking happy. But today, Pence finds her looking somewhat cheerful.
She sits between some closely bunched bushes in front of the mansion, knees pulled up to her chest and arms wrapped around them. She looks somehow childish, and oddly content for the cramped position.
"... What are you doing?" Pence asks, the curiosity gnawing away at his reasoning. He usually doesn't ask these kinds of questions. He has learned from people like Hayner, Seifer, and Rai, that the responses are often useless.
For example, when Hayner spray-painted the entire alley wall with "HA HA HA HA HA HA" over and over again, the only explanation the blond could give was "Well it... I, uh, I... You know?" followed by huffing and snorting and stomping off to grab more spray paint cans. Or, perhaps, the time he walked in on Seifer, sitting on the floor of the Usual Spot, building a card house. The explanation had been "Because I couldn't find my cards and if I took these all the way back to my house, I would have to come all the way back to return them," - which would have made sense, sort of, but Seifer had stolen them anyway. Or maybe when Rai made a trail of dominos from Fuu's doorway all the way down the street and to the bakery nearby. His reason was "Well otherwise I won't win, y'know?" which explained very little.
Anyway, the point is, asking the two groups why they were doing something, or what they were doing, rarely ended in logic. Fuu is more sane than the others, right?
She glowers at Pence for a moment, then tugs him down with her. "Hiding," she explains briefly. She shushes him when he tries to ask anything else, and pulls him down when he tries to stand.
"I told Olette I'd help her clean Hayner's room today," Pence whispers, trying to excuse himself. (Maybe she'll allow him to crawl away?) But he's shushed again, and smacked in the forehead.
On the up-side, Rai doesn't find them for quite a while, even after wandering past the bushes multiple times, Seifer trailing behind him, already found and bored.
On the down-side, after they're found, Rai continues searching until he finds Hayner, who was apparently also playing. This would be fine on it's own, but Olette is very angry when they finally return to Hayner's spotless bedroom.
