Challenge: [096] Delight
Title: It's Like Saying Hello

Notes: The Restoration Committee and Riku meet. Selfishly indulging in the lets-socialize-Riku campaign. Not quite sure it fulfills the challenge, though it's an unsaid feeling.

They aren't sure of him at first - of this serious, gloomy-faced boy who'd act like he was trying to hide behind locks of hair. He was the child that helped Maleficent kidnap the Princesses of Hearts: even if he did want to help with the Restoration, would it be smart to trust him?
"So we finally meet," says Leon.
"How do you do?" Aerith adds, kindly.
"We've heard a lot about you!" Yuffie's eyes positively glimmer with curiosity.
"Have you?" Riku glances at Sora, concerned and almost nervous - his sea-blue eyes are surprisingly expressive.
Kairi smacks him on the back in an apparent comforting gesture, though Leon questions that from the pained wince on the teen's face.
"Don't worry," she says brightly. "We didn't tell them about the fifth grade."
"Or that time at my house on Valentine's," Sora teases.
"How about the last time he went to that stand - "
" - At the park? Yeah! And then the field-trip to the lake - "
" - And he fell in?"
"Nope, not a word!"
"You guys!" Riku hisses between clenched teeth, half-horrified.
Aerith politely tries not to laugh as Riku grabs each of his friends in a headlock, Sora to the left and Kairi to the right. They mew and whine pathetically at him as he threatens to spill all their embarrassing secrets. Yuffie and Leon trade looks; hers a wide grin, and his is an exasperated eye-roll.
"I've heard enough," Leon breaks in, stern. When everyone stops and looks at him, he nods his head at Riku, saying, "You can tell us about it after dinner. Welcome to Radiant Garden, Riku."
Sora and Kairi, still head-locked, protest any sharing of stories but their friend only stares at Leon, eyes wide, before breaking into a smile. It's almost shy. Somehow, it's familiar, too.
They weren't sure of him at first - but they think it'll be all right.
