Title: Pretty Little Princess
Word Count: 405
Other: I think this is the shortest thing I've written. Ever. It was fun to write, though.
Once upon a time in a land far, far away, there lived a pretty little princess. She had an evil stepmother who hated her, so one day she locked the pretty little princess in a tall white tower, because isn’t that what usually happens in these sort of stories? The pretty little princess wept, because who would ever think to look for her all the way up there? How would she ever find a brave handsome prince to love her now?
But even pretty little princesses can’t weep forever, and so eventually she resigned herself to her fate. Whenever she felt slightly less miserable, she would draw pretty little pictures, and she spent quite some time like this. She might have stayed like this forever, even, except one day one of her pretty little pictures flew right out the window and into the forest below, where a brave handsome prince stumbled upon it and fell in love. He climbed up the tall white tower and killed the evil stepmother… when the pretty little princess saw him coming to her rescue, she loved him instantly, and helped him up the last bit of her tall white tower. The brave handsome prince saved the pretty little princess, carried her away and married her right then. And then they all lived happily ever after, because that’s what… no?
No. No, they didn’t live happily ever after, because the pretty little princess had never ever been a pretty little princess, but only a nasty manipulative witch who had deluded the brave handsome prince with her magical lies. The pretty little princess was in another castle all together, so once the brave handsome prince came to his senses, he rode off and left her all alone. Just like she always had been, unloved and alone.
Aww, what’s the matter, witch, why are you crying like that? You’re the one who wanted a bed-time story… a fairy-tale, you said, like the ones Axel always tells. Well, I’ve got news for you, witch- fairy-tales aren’t real, and there’s never a happy ending. Not for the likes of you. No matter how long you wait for your brave handsome prince to come, he’ll never want you in the end. You’ll always be alone.
Now, quit your snivelling and go to sleep!
Larxene laughed quietly to herself as she portalled out of the witchling’s room, leaving the young Nobody crying softly behind her- alone.
