Went to my favorite restaurant, Saladang in Pasadena, with Terry and Mai. They are vacationing in Maui for a little over a week, beginning on Sunday. I am jealous. The waitresses at Saladang -- still fine. The chicken panang and curry chicken fried rice -- still excellent.

Wanted to go to D&B in Arcadia to get drinks, but the very few people I would've preferred to hang out with weren't available.

My good friend Gabriel called Friday night and mentioned that his wife was going out with her friends and that he might be able to get someone to babysit. And so on Saturday morning, he confirmed that he would be free, so we ended up going to
Independance Festival @ The L.A. Coliseum at 8pm. I hadn't been there since the '84 Olympic games. About half of the huge arena was filled with people dancing on the field of the Coliseum on Saturday night. Very cool fireworks show, but for most of the night, the music sucked. Last week at EDC was much, much better -- alot more talented djs like The Crystal Method and Dieselboy. Still, we had a good time just like back in the day. Met a few cool people and some sexy girls. Left around 2am, and we probably would've stayed til 3am when it ended, but Gabriel had to be at work at 8:30 in the morning.

Went to Redondo Beach with Andy to get some fresh seafood. Crowded as hell, and took forever to find parking. Thankfully there were alot of fine girls there. Of course, the fine girls are always with guys, but they're always nice eye-candy anyway. We ordered some oysters and steamed clams in white wine sauce. Afterwards, we headed to Manhattan Beach, but since it was getting cold by the time we got there around 5pm, we only stayed for an hour and a half or so. I am determined to get back the nice tan I had in Hawai'i by summer's end.
Since we were in the area, we had dinner at The Loft in Torrance. I ordered the char siu chicken fried rice like the last time I went there with Leilani. Also, to bring back some memories, I ordered a
Kona Longboard Lager beer... one of the many beers my aunt would bring home for me when I stayed at her place in Hawai'i. The Loft... there are always some cute waitresses at this place, and always some cute Japanese girls dining at the restaurant with their friends and/or boyfriends. Torrance is the second place on Earth that I had wished I had grown up and went to high school because there are cute Japanese-American girls there unlike all of the nasty FOBs in San Gabriel. The first place I wish I were born and went to school? Somewhere in Hawai'i, of course.
Headed back home and about an hour later went to Old Town Pasadena around 9:30pm. Went for gelato at
Tutti Gelati. I ordered a mix of lemon cream and vanilla. That is enough sugar for me for the next month.
Went to D&B in Arcadia to get some drinks. Played some games for awhile and then decided to order our drinks at one of the tables near the main bar. The waiter took our order but because we ended up waiting for 15 minutes, Andy was annoyed, and so we decided to leave. Really was way too long to wait, especially when there were at least 2 or 3 bartenders working the main bar.
