That Time of Year: Thankfulness

Nov 23, 2012 20:53

So I missed my daily yesterday, which in my current pattern means I'm going to try to post twice today. Since it is already 8:30pm, we'll just see if I actually manage that.

What I meant to post yesterday was a quick "Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends." Clearly, I'm a bit late for that. Not nearly as late as I would be if I was posting "Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends," though. But still late.

And since I've missed both of those posts this year, what I'll do instead today is list few things I'm thankful for.

I'm thankful for my friends, which I mentioned a bit in this  recent post. I am fortunate to have a lot of friends, and to have a lot of people consider me their friend. Friends add a great richness to my life. Online, in real-time, close at hand or far away, I am truly fortunate to have a network of friends. And the fact that I keep mistyping "fiends" only adds to the fun...

I'm thankful for my family, both my family of origin (providers of "roots and wings") and my own made family (also doing well with "roots and wings").

I'm thankful for my health. For all that I have some ongoing complaints and am horribly susceptible to respiratory infections, I am otherwise remarkably healthy. For that I think genetics plays a huge part (thanks Mom & Dad), but also a good diet, a reasonable environment, and access to healthcare.

I'm thankful that the little black kitten we rescued on a hot night in June a number of years ago has turned into such a sweet companion kitty.

I'm thankful for an enormous number of things, really, but these are the top of the list.
