Third book of the Merchant Princes, in which Merriam gets pushed around a lot. Despite the title, there's only one short scene that has anything to do which business; the rest is all politics (conspiracies, duties of women, preparations for war). I also found it odd the back cover blurbs all talk about how funny and amusing the first two books were while this one, well, isn't. The ending is very abrupt, since it's the first part of a novel that was too big to publish in one volume.
