Start of a sequel trilogy to the Phedre books, this time narrated by Imriel. I don't like him as much as I liked her, mainly because he spent much of the book as a whiny teenager with little control of his desires. However, he does mature by the end, so the next books should be better. Plotwise, the first half is about growing up and politics (much like Kushiel's Dart) and the second half is travel and politics (like Kushiel's Chosen).
