This is the prose novelization of the comic Girl Genius, covering the first three volumes (first ten issues). It adds a never seen before prologue (which can be read on Baen's website) and omits "The Heterodyne Boys and the Dragon From Mars" story, but otherwise very few changes from the comic (Zulenna is Agatha's roommate instead of Sleipnir, and a new short scene where Krosp tries to rescue Vapnoople). The change in medium means the reader is now told what characters are thinking and feeling instead of figuring it out from the facial expressions shown, making the story feel a bit dumbed down.
