DOMINION TOURNAMENT 2/29/09
Dominion is an amazingly awesome card game. Board Game Geek describes it this way:
“Dominion is not a CCG, but the play of the game is similar to the construction and play of a CCG deck. The game comes complete with roughly 500 cards. You select 10 of the 25 Kingdom card types to include in any given play -- leading to immense variety.”

This game has been a huge hit since we opened the demo. Not only is it a great, simple strategy game, but it is playable in 15-30 minutes. It being so awesome, we must have a tournament to determine who dominates Dominion.

What better time to dominate than the first anniversary of Worlds Apart Games? It was February 29th, 2008 when Worlds Apart celebrated it's grand opening. The tournament will take place at 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 29th, 2009. (One of the benefits of Worlds Apart membership is the existence of a leap day every year. Non-members may attend the tournament on March 1st.)

The tournament is FREE!

MAULCON
The Pioneer Valley shall once again have a gaming convention for the ages. NexusCorp is renting out the store front at the Hampshire Mall which once contained Steve and Barry's. March 13-15, 2009, NexusCorp introduces MaulCon, a full-range gaming convention including RPGs, board games, cards games, laser tag, and more.

For RPGs, we a have a wide variety of RPGs run by local GMs including some exciting independent games written by local authors.

For Board Games, we will have many, many board games available, including the Worlds Apart Games demo library. Got a good board game library yourself? Bring it with to share and get $5 off admission!

After hours, Laser Storm has been kind enough to host a laser tag tournament exclusively for MaulCon attendees. The laser tag tournament will have an additional charge.

Additionally, X-9, our friendly game store neighbor in the Mall, will be hosting great Magic events during the weekend.

Admission is $15 at the door and $10 pre-registration. Pre-registration is available at Worlds Apart and online at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/55072

MaulCon is looking for GMs. Run one four hour session, get in for $5. Two sessions: get in FREE!
