Free Contra Dance!
Contradance with Special Workshop. At 7:00 PM, a special cost-free 60-minute workshop on the basic skills, elements, style, and courtesies of contra dancing precedes the regular dance. Easy dances and live music will be included and the session will be led by David Kaynor. All who participate are invited to dance the entire evening without paying admission.
For the regular 8:00 - 11:00 dance, music is by Stuart Kenney (bass, banjo); Mary Cay Brass (keyboard, accordion); David Kaynor (fiddle, guitar, calls); and guest fiddler Colin Lindsay.
For participants in the regular dance alone, admission is by self determined free will contribution (a.k.a. the Honor System) with $8 - $10 or barter equivalent suggested.
