Cosplay Update: Kate Freelander

Having pretty good luck throwing this one together, nothing's perfect but I have to force myself to think that the main pieces are CLOSE ENOUGH.

The costume in question:

On the jacket, I seriously scoured trying to find one like it, but A, bombers are waaaaaayyyy out of season and B, my  budget also limits my options. However, I ended up settling on a look-a-like that was pretty much the same colour (hard to find, btw), was the right shape and length, and had the zippers in almost exactly the same place. This, for $30, was seriously as good as it was going to get, so I went ahead and bought it.

The scarf (the first one), I picked up something reminiscent of at Claires, just because it was cheap and sort of similar, but I found a much better one today at Kohls and have since updated it.

The shirt is super distinct, so for now I've just been swapping in basic grey tanks/knit tops of mine for the photos until I can find something that recalls the same look as hers, or get brave and decide to screenprint/paint it myself or something.

The earrings I have are almsot perfect, I just need to add the little chandelier bits on the ends. I do not have any accurate bracelets yet but I've found lookalikes very easy to find, so it's just a matter of finding the cash. Have not found a suitable belt yet, but am eyeing a pair of boots in a local shop at the moment.

Super quick test shot taken when the jacket arrived, for this costume, styling and makeup is super important and I did neither here. XD Also, this was with scarf 1.0.

Aaaaand here's take two, which I took today with the new scarf, some actual makeup and a failed attempt to comb the kinks out of my hair. Please ignore my fail facial expressions.
