Yuletide letter, 2014
Season's greetings, Yuletide Author! I'm super psyched to do this again and happy to share a fandom with you! I’m like to think I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to fic exchanges, so please feel free to take as much or as little from this letter as you like. I'm sure I will treasure whatever you whip up for me so long as you don't hit any of my squicks!
That said, here's some information you may find useful.
General likes:
Slow-building romance; well developed, plausible characters with flaws; friendship; canon compliancy; alternate universes; humor/crack; witty banter; porny interludes; epistolary fic, digital or otherwise; metafic; amnesia fic; holiday fic; the morning after; pretending to be a couple that actually leads to being a couple; awkward sex; first times; magic realism; soulbond. TROPES, I like them.
General dislikes:
PWP; deathfic; non-con; horror; gore; character bashing; mpreg.

Pauly D, Vinny
Vinny + Pauly D = My heart's content.
What can I say? The heart wants what it wants and I am still desperate for a slow-build Vinny/Pauly D shipfic! Maybe they all agree to a reunion show and the gang conspires to play matchmaker? Maybe they randomly run into each other at a club where Pauly’s stepped in to DJ at the last minute and reignite their bromance? Pauly’s a father now, so maybe he ends up with custody of the baby and, overwhelmed and panicky, calls on Vinny to lend a helping hand and they ~fall in love~ over dirty diapers and colic?
Maybe I'm really bad at generating prompts for this pairing and you have a brilliant idea you'd rather use instead? Please do.
Nurse Jackie
ANY (Ike Prentiss, Zoey Barkow, Eddie Walzer, Gloria Akalitus)
I was totally pumped when they introduced Ike Prentiss (Why, hello there, Morris Chestnut) and was so sad to see him go. I enjoyed watching his ultra-professionalism and love for boundaries being slowly eroded by the relationships he developed with his coworkers, how that changed him and how he coped or, rather, didn’t. His impatience in dealing with Coop and Dr. Roman made me LOL, as did his grudging respect for the remaining members of the ER team and his hateboner for Akalitus/Authority. If you want to explore any of those relationships, go wild. If you prefer to write shipfic? I would absolutely love to read about how Ike / Zoey’s relationship plays out in the future. Possibly via Skype / phone / text / email / social media or Ike’s home leaves / eventual return?
I really like the interactions of all the characters so an ensemble fic set during a trying day in the All Saints ER, featuring any / all of the four characters nominated, would be equally awesome.
-Eddie is THE BEST. I love his blend of indulgence and blunt honesty. His relationship with Jackie is at once heartwarming and horrifying, but I prefer the moments we see of him outside of that relationship.
-AKALITUS! What a broad! I love the way she gambles her way through everything - work, life, her relationships with the staff. Quick witted, enterprising, totally boss. Maybe you want to write about what a night on the town with Gloria might look like?
-What to say about Zoey? I love her friendships with Thor and Eddie. I already mentioned this above, but I was thrilled to see her pair up with Ike and would love to read about how that relationship evolves after his departure. I’ve loved seeing her grow up under Jackie’s trial-by-fire tutelage and am really touched by the bond she's forged with Grace and Fiona.

Playing House
ANY (Emma Crawford, Maggie Caruso, Mark Rodriguez, Zach Harper)
This show is so, so, so good! Do you like badass women? Do you like friendship? Do you like characters who own up to their mistakes / flaws? Do you like funny? I do and this show has all of these things in droves! If you’ve never seen it, it’s pretty easy to jump into - there have only been 10 half-hour episodes thusfar.
I love Emma and Maggie’s friendship - maybe you want to explore how it’s evolved through the years? I love Maggie’s brother Zach and his eternal puppy love for Emma - maybe they get drunk one night and she throws him a bone and awkwardness ensues afterwards because her feelings remain unchanged? I love Emma and Mark’s dynamic and the palpable sexual tension between them and am curious where the show will take things next. Maybe you have an idea? Love Maggie and Zach’s sibling bond and how they gang up together on Emma. Would love to hear your thoughts on Emma and Mark’s romantic history or how Maggie and Emma stayed in touch while Emma was in China (social media/epistolary fic?) or how Zach pined for Emma over the years (so funny!). Also: BIRD BONES!

Clare Pettengill, Kenny McLeod
I just recently re-watched this series and was thrilled to see it nominated! The show does such a great job of playing with tropes and I wouldn’t mind seeing that reflected in a fic. I love that Clare is so sour and stern, so unrepentantly unlikeable / oblivious and that Kenny is so determinedly not. I’m charmed by the constant tumble of emotions between them and would love to see these two finally get together. Maybe it’s years in the future after Clare has returned to the States and she meets up with Kenny at a stop on his book tour? Maybe Fist tells the others she caught them almost kissing at the end of the series and the gang conspires to bring them together? Maybe, having dumped Lachlan, Clare needs a quick date to Jean’s wedding and ropes Kenny into pretending to be her boyfriend so as not to disappoint her mother? Maybe something else entirely?
I have such a soft spot for the other members of the ensemble, too; this show was so great at exploring the awkward and funny ways people get to know one another and build friendships. Janice and Jean are particular favorites, so I wouldn’t mind seeing either of them pop up.
Basically, whatever works! I love this show and just really want to read more fic about it.
