Stonehenge and Stevenson

Saturday morning, Aaron and I woke up, did some obligatory yard work, and then took off to the Columbia Gorge. It was a gorgeous day for a drive. I've always meant to go visit the replica of Stonehenge that's on the Washington side of the river, and we decided to make the trip. It was a beautiful two hour trip. When we finally got there, we discoverd that a local Mini driving club had also had our idea; a couple dozen Minis of all colors were fanned out artfully in front of the memorial. When we first pulled up, I thought it was some sort of photoshoot for a commercial or something, except that the cameras everyone was holding were obviously amateur.

After taking a few pictures of our own, we drove to Stevenson on the Washington side of the river. The view of Hood River and the windsurfers and kite boarders was amazing... I wish I had a camera that could take the sort of picture that such a sight deserves. We finally arrived at our destination, the Walking Man Brewery. It's a tiny place that makes fantastic beer. We sat outside and had a pizza and a 4 oz tasters of all ten of the beers they had on tap. It was all pretty good, except for maybe their wheat beer that was a little too orangy, but I was disappointed that they didn't yet have their seasonal Flip Flop Pils. I guess we'll have to save that for another weekend.

And then we drove home and napped and were thoroughly boring and unproductive on Sunday. Yay, weekends!
