Last weekend, I had a lovely late breakfast at the Paradox with Mary and with Anne, who I haven't seen in years and years. She has transformed from an opinionated, strong-willed scruffy teenager into an opinionated and strong-willed sophisticated woman who is determined to make a difference in the world. In other words, she's still the same Anne, and it was great to see her. On Sunday, Aaron and I had dinner with Steve and Teressa (both Reed alums) and their incredibly bright son, Sam, and stayed up until late talking at their house. Teressa runs a business selling vintage/antique stuff on ebay, and she always has the most awesome dinner settings with the most beautiful plates and glasses and flatware combinations. Going over to her house inspires me to want to dust off some of the nice things that I have laying around and arranging for people to come over to dinner other than pizza or takeout and a dvd, but then I go home and turn back into me, and it never quite manages to happen.
Wednesday, I had my usual lesson on Monaco and contemplated whether we are ready for the show season that starts in March. He has moments of awesomeness, followed by ugliness with him bracing and throwing his head up. We're just not as consistent as we need to be to get good marks at Prix St George. I may need to pick up a third riding day a week to get ready for show season. Later that night, Zach came over, bringing some bookshelves that he and Alice weren't using anymore. Then we had a ueber-geeky WoW talk about the 25-man dungeons he's been running with the
BigRedKitty guild... it's actually a guild that's NOT filled with gay-bashing 14 year olds. Amazing. I haven't been playing WoW for a couple of months, but I might have to take it up again.
