Well, it seems to the Winnipeg thing to re-learn winter every year.
Rule number #1... don't run too hard when you're not used to the cold, or your lungs may get cranky! And fall out. Especially when you've run the entire length of your workplace's parking lot to catch your bus, which just happens to have a new scheduled stop time!
But, onto other things.
The parental units came into town and gave me my early Christmas present... I am so full of new parka goodness I can hardly stand it! Especially when I'm inside, 'cause it's really durn warm.
It's a nice down-filled number with a super-deep hood and pockets galore. And a little inside pocket with an embroidered picture of a cell phone. How cute! How I hate cell phones. But I bet I could fill that full of candies! Num.
Luckily, I had stopped by
Sugar Mountain on the weekend with my Dad. Not only did I load up on candy-goodness, but my extremely honed hunting skills allowed me to sneak up on Cory and
bloofoxtales. Either that, or candies are just more exciting than myself. Though, I have to admit that candies come in a lot more interesting colours than myself.
Hrmm. I should dye my hair again.
We didn't really have much time to talk, but I really need to go out and see the coffee-folks again soon!
Most of the weekend of course was taken up with family stuff, but it was all good... went to Bistro Danske and the Original Pancake House, and did a little shopping. Oh,
Canadian Tire, how we love you and your crazy
Candian Tire Money! Wow... that link to the Canadian Tire Money has the word Lubritorium in it. I think that'll have to become part of my lexicon, just like
trafficator!
In addition to shopping though, we decided to take the evenings pretty easy and rented a couple flicks. Friday night was
Hotel Rwanda and Saturday night's feature was
Crash. Both of them were very good. People may remember me already commenting on Crash before, but I think it's a really interesting telling of a tale.
The only "unfortunate" thing about my folks coming over is that my schedule tends to get severely readjusted and left a lot of loose ends for the things I normally do on the weekend. Such as buying a bus pass... whoops on that one! Using cash seems to be such an annoyance now. Oopse... and remembering that I have to take
Fargo back to the libraroo! Heh... almost slipped up on that one!
Anyways, I've got a bucket of stuff needing doing, so I'll prattle on in other formats for a while.
