Yes, it is the day before I start my Christmas holidays!
Due to the financial crunch, my workplace has extended the holidays until January 10th, so I (theoretically) will have a lot of time to get stuff done around the house. I'm especially optimistic about the basement, as a lot of work I have to do right now is low budget (mudding and taping) so doesn't require income that ain't comin'.
There are always potential problems. Though I put in as wanting tomorrow and Friday off, I have not yet received confirmation from my manager. It is sort've down to a "we'll see how busy we are" motif. Yesterday was not what I would consider busy by a long stretch, so I'll keep my spirits up and consider this my last day of work for the year.
A new version of
Digikam was released last night, and may prove to be one of my new tasks over the holidays. I had missed a minor version so am going straight from 1.5.0 to 1.7.0 (though the facial recognition in 2.0.0 is what I'm really looking forward to), but of course, no upgrade is ever perfect.
Take this compile, for example. Everything seems to run great, except for the fact that Digikam only shows me albums and no files. I've already got a clue as to why this is happening, but I still need to track it all down.
But hey, what's life with-out self-made challenges?
If Digikam sucked, I'd have tossed it by now... but I can't quit it.
