I need to contact the city inspectors to continue on with the work that I'm doing. I've found the contact number on the city website; it's one of the only numbers that hasn't been shunted over to the new 311 system.
Unfortunately the website does not mention what their hours of operation are, but I recall from last year that there was only a window of 1 hour that I can actually make the call. The inspectors accept calls for the first hour of the day and schedule their day's work from there.
The number I call just rings, rings, and rings. I don't know if it is too early, they are just on another line, or I've got the completely wrong number (which I don't think I do). If they started work then I've still got 55 minutes to try and get through. Should they have opened at 7:30 (like I thought they might), then I've only got 25 minutes to get through.
If I don't get through this morning then it'll be another day of waiting.
I guess I could use a day off, but it's really nice having such large chunks of time that I can put toward work.
