In my home town I was volunteered to help my dad plant hundreds of trees which have now formed windrows along the south edge of town. I was pretty grumbly that I had to give up my Saturdays, but what else do you expect from a teenager.
In the last few years when I've gone back to my home town, it has been rather amazing how "quickly" the trees grew, and how they changed from the basic "sticks" we had planted to follow grown leafy trees.
I think in a lot of ways having to do that work with my dad really helped me appreciate investing in the future with things like that. I think that's also why I found this short especially touching.
