To share my nerdiness.

Well, since I'm still working on trying to get things together... for well... life in general, one step is to really hammer out my finances.

Especially with my current furnace change-over from gas to electric, I'm going to have to cast a critical eye at where my money is going.  And I know that I'm a bit too free with it, otherwise I wouldn't keep running out of it!  Though I think part of that is just losing track of what I've paid, and what I assume I've paid!

I've created a spreadsheet that should help me track things a little more better, and give me a clear view on stuffs.  It is amazing how much of a difference it makes to me just being able to see the numbers instead of having a whole bunch of ambiguous expenses floating around in my skull.

Since I've went through the work, I figure that other people may want to give the spreadsheet a try as well, so I've uploaded it here (both OpenOffice.org and Excel versions).  The only parts that really need to be filled in are the yellow cells, customising what you're paying, and everything else should fall into place.

I found seeing how much money I actually need to earn probably as beneficial as anything... I know I common complaint by others I know is "I'll never make this much money".  But perhaps I don't need to make that much.
