Just for Canada Day!

Happy July 1st to those of you that dig it, and of course Happy July 4th to those folks that live 3 days in the future!

Northern Wish
by Dave Bidini and Janet Morassutti

Wake up, raise the curtains
From your deep provincial eyes.
Speak out, for I am certain
That it's no disguise.

And soldiers stopping traffic
Couldn't keep these wheels at bay;
Their guns smoked, then the sun broke,
And we hauled away.

(Land ho!)

And did you get my message
On the People's Radio?
I wrote it in Alberta
Across the prairie spine.

Meanwhile in the forest
In a parliament of trees,
The ink will crack and dry all up,
But the compass will swing anyway.

And we don't need mathematics.
We don't need submarines
To tell how far the land does go
Until it hits the shore.

And mothers of the country
Take two flags and make a sail.
We'll sail the big dominion.
This song is falling...

I built my rocket in a shed.
Gonna launch it from my pad.
Gonna launch it at the sun.

Oh, and in the spirit of having a long week-end, I've also pulled out my stylus and slapped together a new Fuchswerks design!

This design was actually created for my little nephew Seamus.  My home town had created a shirt design with a bison on the back super-imposed over a map of southwestern Manitoba... but unfortunately (for whatever reason) the design couldn't be resized to fit on a shirt small enough for Seamus.  Alas and alack, tragedy abounds!  So, why not use art for good, huh?

I'm not certain if I'm entirely happy with this design, but I dunno if it is because of a problem with the design, or if I've been sitting infront of my computer too long.

Anyhow... off to prowl around the neighbourhood and see what kind've Canada Day goodness is going on!
