Victorian Days II - Sophie

Monday came and the lass and boy went to the school, only now wearing dark blue uniforms. Hers were a white blouse and long skirt that reached her knees; his, a white chemise, red tie and pants.

As they were offered, a coordinator showed them the installations the same day of their registration, and as they requested, they got to enter some classes. Although Joseph thought it would be convenient to be together, Mr. Gideon explained how that was not going to be possible at the moment but that he could try and arrange that for their regular classes.

-          Please, Sophie, take a sit right behind Luis Antonio, the one who has stood up. - instructed the professor

As soon as she had gotten in, each and every one of the students turned their heads to try and get a look at the newcomer. A pretty, average height, dark haired lass whose uniform was completely different to theirs was standing right before them, being presented by the Algebra teacher; and doing as instructed soon after.

-          As you’ve just came, worry not. - began explaining him - You won’t be asked about the homework. However, I need you to pay attention. And try getting some notes.

-          Thank you, professor.

Ding-Ding-Ding-Dong… Sounded the bell at 10:50 am, indicating it was the end of the class and that they had 10 minutes before History. She felt the first period had been easy, and was about getting up to try and get someone to lend her a notebook when, suddenly, a tall boy with messy brown hair approached to her sit, and introduced himself as Thomas Lindle.

-          It’s very nice to meet you too, mister Lindle. - she said, turning her gaze to the lad - And thank you for your notebook.

-          Please, feel free to ask me any questions about classes or anything. We may even get to be friends.

-          With time... - in her mind she just regretted what she had said - “I’m sorry for there won’t be. This is only temporal.”

-          Hey, Thom! Don’t disturb the lady… Oh, pardon my rudeness; I’m Nicholas Schrendt, vice-president of our Scholar Council. And this little pain is my Counselor, though he should be working on some pending documents at the moment.

-          … - she blinked, not knowing how to react

-          This has to seem strange. - he sighed - Sorry.

The girl replied nothing. And after a few seconds looking at them silently, she nodded and added: “What’s next on the schedule?”
