semi-miracles
3 semi-miracles happened today.
1. i wanted to get down to UCI, but i didnt have a ride. however, shebli called me and told me he drove up to ucla today instead of taking the vanpool. so i could've gotten down to uci! unforunately, i didnt have a place to stay at uci, so i decided not to go (darn you commuter school!)
2. i was walking down to strathmore building and some chinese couple stopped me and asked me if i knew how to speak mandarin. i said i could try. they explained to me how their kid goes to some school in ohio and that they just came all the way from china to come visit ucla and they needed to get to the admissions office (murphy hall), so i showed them directions on the map but they couldnt really read the map, so i volunteered to get into their car and take them there. they were very thankful for that. i also found out that im not that good in mandarin, although they said my mandarin is good for someone born in the US and for someone who is a native cantonese speaker.
3. pooja's appeal to UCLA worked!!!!!!!!! she got un-rejected from UCLA!!!!!
