randomness! Bored at work!

I'm at work with nothing to do but input contact info into a spreadsheet, whoopee-shit!

There's no one to bitch about Big Brother 6 with cause my cohort in Bellevue took a vacation day.

I've rewritten lyrics for Chasing A Dream into a cleaner, metered form (by including measure counts). They're very simplistic. This is my 2nd draft. I want Kayla here to sing and help write lyrics. Stupid 170 miles between us. I'm sure these words will get rewritten and rehashed until something decent happens that will go with the music. Then I get the fun of recording and sequencing vocals on top of the song. That's far off, and I don't want to think about those logistics right now. But it's fun imagining how it will all sound. Kayla's definitely my Dream character. I think I'll try playing the Dreamer, and it may sound weird, but I think my Mom might even have a part in this song as an ambient "ooooh, aaaaah" voice. I know. Weird. I'm mindful of voices in the actual music business (Bjork, Sting, to name a couple apropo's), but with this song I'm thinking of family for some reason. I think of our voices singing this song and it brings a real tear to my eye. Freakin' weird.
...anyway, I did that this morning. The lyric rewrite I mean. and the imagining. The lyrics have helped me listen to the song in a chapter-like form which helps me scan to any part of it and know exactly where I am when I hit play again.

I'm leaving work early for the holiday weekend. Hope to get a bunch of domestic crap done today so I can do more domestic crap this weekend, and hopefully get good and drunk, eat badly, and go take pretty pictures somewhere. I need to clean up my car and put a for sale sign on it, and need to rearrange my music room and set it up as best I can for recording vocals. There should be time for all of this, right? I'm pretty sure.

I don't even have a movie review or anything to share. Been to beat to watch them lately!
