Supernatural spoiler talk & thoughts about fandom nonsense
So I was finally spoiled for a certain Supernatural episode that I'm pretty sure has everyone in a freak out and well....
So all I know about the episode is that Sam & Dean get zapped into some alternate reality where they're actors named "Jared" & "Jensen" who play the Winchester brothers on a show called 'Supernatural'. And I guess that the spoiler that has everyone freaking out is the one about Genevieve coming back for that episode and playing....herself aka Jared's wife.
Normally when I get spoiled for Supernatural I get really annoyed, because it's actually the one show that I watch that I go out of my way to not get spoiled for. However, all I wanted to do when I saw this spoiler was LAUGH, in fact I'm pretty sure I actually started to giggle.
I knew right away that batshit crazy fangirls fandom was going to go insane, because that seems to be what this fandom does best. Except I think that everyone needs to put there 'personal' feelings for Genevieve aside for second and just think...Sam & Dean in the alternate reality are going to know that they're Sam & Dean unless it's gonna be another "It's a Terrible Life" where the guys don't realize that they aren't who everyone thinks they are until they see some freaky shit. Anyways, Sam & Dean are gonna immediately think that 'Genevieve' is RUBY and that'll fuck their collective shit up. Before the whole Lucifer/Michael vessel thing one of the biggest things that ever came between the boys was Ruby.
And I'm sure there would be a few people that say 'Ok so bring Ruby back but why Genevieve? Why not Katie?'. Simple, while Katie's version of Ruby was awesome, it wasn't the version of Ruby that caused all the shit, it wasn't the version that slept with Sam, it wasn't the version that got Sam hooked on demon blood, it wasn't the version that 'helped' Sam 'live' when Dean was in Hell and it wasn't the version that finally brought Dean and Sam back to the same side when they killed her together.
So why not bring back the actress that was playing her when all that shit was going on? Why not bring back the actress that was playing her while Sam was sleeping with her? Why not bring back the actress that was playing her when Dean finally killed her with her own damn knife?
It makes sense.
Also, just randomly how much would it fucking rock if Sam was "Jensen" and Dean was "Jared"? Now that....that would be funny/awesome. Then again fandom would go batshit all over again because Genevieve would be paired up with the 'real' Jensen this time around and God knows we can't have that. (can you see me rolling my eyes?)
OK, I'm shutting up now before I lose even more friends than I probably already have.
