Haneul sat at the back of the wooden carriage and stared up at the clear blue sky, a smile appearing on her face as she thought of all the things they might see in the kingdom where they were headed. It was the first time that Haneul would be going to Star Kingdom. She imagined how big the castle would look like, how the ladies would be wearing fancy dresses of pink and yellow, how the gentlemen would all be wearing robes of green and red, just like in the stories that her mother had told her when she was a little girl.

Howon was seated at the front, him being the ‘coachman’ of the ride and lightly hitting the horse that was pulling the carriage with his whip. He glanced behind him and smiled to himself as he saw how Haneul was smiling, completely lovely and excited.

“We’re almost there, Haneul! You see that bridge over there?” Howon pointed to the brick bridge up ahead and turned to look at Haneul again, “After that bridge and passing by the small group of trees, we’ll reach the plaza of Star Kingdom.”

Haneul excitedly crawled over to where Howon was seated and sat next to him, patting the horse from behind, “Go faster, Namu! Go faster so we can be there already!” The horse responded with a loud grunt and seemed to have followed her orders, passing by the bridge and the trees quickly.

Haneul's eyes widened as she took in the appearance of the plaza. A big fountain with a statue of an angel standing in the middle was placed at the center, little kids sitting by the edge and played around the water.

Howon stopped the carriage just a few meters away from the fountain, as soon as it stopped Haneul jumped out and ran towards the fountain, a big smile on her face. Howon watched, a gentle smile on his face, Haneul leaned over by the water and dipped her hand in and then lifting it up with some water in her palms. Never in his whole life has he seen someone so perfect in his eyes.

Haneul turned to Howon and grinned, “Oppa! Come here and play with me!”

Howon snapped out of his trance and shook his head, “Let's go to the Inn first, Haneul-ah. We can just come back here later on, okay?”

Haneul jumped off from the fountain, nodding her head and fixing her clothes, she climbed back up the carriage and sat next to his brother. “Okay, but promise me that we'll come back here.”

“I promise! We have 3 days for you to explore this place, Haneul.” Howon patted her on the head and started to make the horse move again.

“Do you think we're allowed to enter the palace?” Haneul asked as she stared at the bricked building up ahead.

“I don't think so... Commoners like us aren't allowed inside.” Haneul sighed, she carefully stood up and went back to sit in the back, once she was settled down, she rested her chin in the palms of her hand and stared at the palace.

“I wish I was a princess...” She let out another sigh.

Soori shook Seobyul's sleeping form and whispered to her ears, “Wake up, Seobyul. We're almost there.”

Seobyul opened her eyes and blinked twice. She turned her head to the left and saw shops, stalls and people all going through their businesses.

“This is Star Kingdom?” Seobyul asked as she pressed her palm on the window and looked at the shops, a smile on her face.

“The market place, yes.” Seobyul turned her head towards Sunggyu and found him smiling warmly at her.

“This place is amazing...”

“It's just the same as ours, Seobyul-ah.” Soori said.

Seobyul ignored her mother and just went back to looking outside.

Suddenly, the carriage abruptly stopped, making the people stumble inside. Queen Soori furrowed her eyebrows and knocked on the metal separating them from the coachman.

“What was that?” Soori asked.

Seobyul continued to look out at the window and try to see what was happening outside. She could only see the rear end of a wooden carriage. Seobyul could hear a voice of a girl too.

“We're sorry! We didn't mean to! We weren't looking! Sorry for almost causing an accident!”

“It's okay, next time just be careful and don't cross the streets without looking at either sides, okay?” The coachman said in a friendly tone of voice.

Seobyul wanted to open the window and see who the girl was and what was the problem but was stopped by Soori, who was giving her a disapproving glare.

Their carriage started to move slowly again. Because of this, Seobyul finally caught a glimpse of the girl who was sitting at the back of the carriage who collided with theirs and also the boy who was seated up front.

Seobyul couldn't stop staring at the girl, she felt like she knew who the girl was but couldn't put a finger to it. The girl suddenly turned her head to Seobyul's direction and met eyes with the her. The girl smiled at her. Instead of smiling back, Seobyul's eyes widened and her heartbeat accelerated.

“That smile...” Seobyul said outloud, causing Sunggyu and Soori to look at her. “Those eyes...”

“Are you alright, Seobyul?” Sunggyu asked worriedly.

Seobyul didn't answer.

Hana... But that's impossible. Maybe... Maybe...

“Get away from the window, darling. Too much sun can be bad for your skin.” Soori's voice interrupted Seobyul's train of though, and with that she pushed the ridiculous thought at the back of her mind.

Impossible. She's already dead, that's why I'm here in her place.

“I thought we were going to die!” Haneul said as she hopped down from the carriage with Howon's help. “I told you to look left and right before making Namu cross the street!”

Howon took the bags from the carriage, “I'm sorry, okay! I just thought that there wasn't a carriage coming from the other way...” He mumbled.

Haneul chuckled and patted her brother on the head, “It's okay oppa~ At least we didn't cause any damage! Did you see the girl inside that carriage? She was so pretty!”

“Prettier than you?” Howon teased.

Haneul nodded her head, “Of course! They were headed to the palace, right? I bet she's a princess. I smiled at her, you know? She didn't smile back though... her eyes went wide for some reason. Maybe she thought I was ugly?”

Howon couldn't help but roll his eyes at what she said. Haneul? Ugly? Well, the whole world should just explode if someone found her unattractive.

“Maybe she did!” Howon chuckled as Haneul pouted.

The two of them entered the Inn and earned a few glances from the people who were all seated by a table and eating.

“Stay here, I'll just ask if they have any vacant rooms here.” Howon said, patting Haneul's shoulder.

“She does look familiar though... I don't know why she looks familiar even though I know I haven't seen her before... I have this feeling I know her.” Haneul whispered mostly to herself. She sat down on an empty seat and propped her chin on top of her palms.

“Did you hear the announcement about the party at the palace tonight?” The lady from the table near where Haneul was seated asked to the other lady in front of her.

“Yes, I did! I heard it's for the Prince's engagement? The princess from the Woollim Kingdom is coming over for that.” The other lady answered in a hushed tone.

“I heard that too... My mother's gonna go over to the palace tonight to help out at the kitchen. She said anyone who's willing to help can just come over. Want to come with me?”

That grabbed Haneul's attention. She moved the chair closer and tried her best to listen to the conversation, even though she knows its rude to do so.

“No, I'd rather stay home than help around the kitchen.”

“Let's go to our room, Haneul. You must be tired.” Howon tapped the girl on the shoulder.

Haneul looked up at Howon with a confused expression and her mouth open, “What?”

“Are you alright?” Howon asked, taking a seat across from her and placed a hand over her forehead, “You seem out of it. You're not sick, right?”

“N-no!” Haneul stood up immediately, “Let's go to our room then!” She grinned and made her way up the stairs, Howon who was shaking his head followed behind.

“Oppa!” Haneul said from the top.

“Hm?” Howon raised an eyebrow at her, but smiled a bit.

“Let's go to the palace later! Please?” Haneul pouted and tugged on Howon's shoulder as he passed her by.

“We're not allowed there, Haneul.” Howon shrugged her off and just headed to their room.

“But we can go there tonight! I heard those ladies talking about it! We can go!” Haneul followed behind like a little kid, “We can go!”

Howon opened the door and stepped inside, but before he could fully enter the room, he turned to Haneul and sighed.

“If I agree, will you let me rest for a bit?” Haneul immediately nodded.

“Okay then. You should rest too. We still have a few hours left anyway.”

“Haneul! I thought you said we were just helping around? I knew you were up to something when you said you wanted to help in the palace kitchen! But this, this is too much! We might get caught!” Howon hissed through the other side of the door and would glance left and right to see if someone was coming.

“Don't worry oppa! We won't get caught! I brought the dress mother made me bring! It's pretty so it might fit in!” Haneul giggled as she changed from her raggy looking dress to the pink one that she had brought.

“What if you don't?!” Howon hissed once again but immediately quieted down as two males dressed in fancy robes walked pass him, raising an eyebrow at him as he bowed. “Haneul, what's taking so long? Get out of there now before we get cau--”

Howon stopped talking as soon as Haneul opened the door and slowly stepped out. Howon stared at her. His eyes wide with adoration and surprise. In his eyes, the most beautiful Goddess just stepped out of the door wearing a shy smile on her lips.

“Does it look that bad on me?” Haneul asked as she looked down at the dress once owned by her mother, “I know it's a bit old but still... I think it's pretty. Oppa, don't just stare!” She hit Howon on the shoulder.

Howon cleared his throat, “S-sorry!” A smile appeared on his face, “You look absolutely beautiful, Haneul. You don't even need any gold or silver around your neck to make you beautiful.”

“You really think so?” Howon nodded and smiled once again.

Haneul smiled widely and twirled around, “Mother's dress is really the beautiful one.” Haneul looked at Howon, “And you look handsome too, oppa! Good thing I took one of father's good suits!”

“Does he even know you took this from the closet? What if he needs to wear this when he goes to town tomorrow?” Howon raised his eyebrow.

“Its Martius 3rd tomorrow, oppa. He doesn't wear his suits until the 8th. He's just going to town to sell rabbit meat. Now, let's go before we miss the party!” Haneul grabbed Howon's wrist and started to drag him to the great hall of the palace.

“It's almost midnight, Haneul. We need to go back to the Inn before the clock strikes twelve. If we don't go back before then we'll have to sleep outside.”

Haneul rolled her eyes, “Yes, fairy godmother.”

King Sunggyu stood by the side and observed the people dancing in the center of the room, smiling to himself as he watched Seobyul dance with the Prince gleefully.

“Aren't they a dashing pair?” Soori smiled as she pointed to the two dancing.

“They are.” Sunggyu nodded and looked at Soori, “They remind me of us.”

Reminds me of Woori...

Soori chuckled and leaned her head on Sunggyu's shoulder, “They do... Do you think Prince Dongwoo would be the perfect one for Seobyul?”

“I think so... Yes, definitely. Just look at her.” Sunggyu looked at Soori and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Soori closed her eyes and Sunggyu pressed his lips to her forehead, as soon as she felt him pull away she looked up at him and grinned, “Do you want something to drink?”

“Sure.”

When Soori pulled away and left, Sunggyu went back to observing the dance floor. He looked at Seobyul and the Prince dancing, this reminded him of Woori once again.

He remembered when he first saw Woori, her dancing with another man in the middle of the dance floor, him standing by the sides and observing her from afar, admiring her in every way possible. That day, Woori wore a baby pink dress that made her glow, it made her shine from everyone else.

Right then, a girl caught King Sunggyu's eyes as she passed by Seobyul, the girl was wearing a baby pink dress, it was simple but beautiful, just like how Woori looked back in the day. Sunggyu waited for the girl to turn around and face him again, and when the girl did Sunggyu's eyes went wide, his legs grew weak as if he'll collapse anytime.

“Woori...?” He whispered to himself as he watched the girl dance.

As if Sunggyu went back in time, his eyes could only see the girl twirling around the dance floor, smiling widely as the gentleman dancing with her smiled back to her. Her eyes, her lips, her long brown hair... Sunggyu didn't want to believe it. Woori was dead. She died 20 years ago, but how come she was right in the middle of the dance floor, dancing gleefully?

A hand suddenly touched Sunggyu's shoulder and it made him jump. Sunggyu looked to his right and found Soori, holding the drink that she had promised him.

“Are you alright, dear?” Soori asked, her eyebrows furrowing with worry.

“I-I'm alright...” Sunggyu answered. He turned to look back at the girl, but she was gone.
