Things have been okay, or as okay as they ever are here. I haven't seen him yet, but he's coming up to see me any minute.

You must be excited. He wasn't gone for long, but it must be nice to have him back so soon in that sense.

Everything's been getting better. Another friend of mine recently arrived.
