In musebox land, there seems to be something a little off. You wake up wherever you went to sleep the night before, but something feels... different. You shake yourself awake, and open your eyes, and are met by sunlight ( Read more... )

[for some reason, Ten is halfway up a tree.

Well, it actually makes sense. Strange, huge place, suddenly happens overnight, lots of things that he can smell and hear as well as see-- what better place to see it all than from the top of a tree? Nowhere.]

[Lightning's old Guardian Corps senses are tingling. surely there must be WRONGDOING AFOOT.

...Or, just an idiot in a tree. riiiight.

she frowns up at him, hand on hip. she's too well drilled to ignore suspicious activity, even if it's not her job any more, and least of all here.]

What are you doing up there?

[he looks down at her, clutching the bark like a monkey. A very skilled monkey, since he manages to keep his grip.]

I thought that would be fairly obvious. I'm climbing.

[he turns back to the tree, clims a couple more inches, but then stops, and adds,]

Well, actually, trying to get to the top to see where we are. It's the best place to look from- somewhere high.

[can she please just find someone normal and sane in this place. please.]

If you fall, don't expect anyone to catch you.

[oh come on Lightning, you can't deny the logic! IT'S FOOLPROOF!]

I'm not. Well, not planning to fall to begin with, but if I do, I've got good reflexes. Doctors always land on their two feet. ... well, cats. Which I'm not. But the point stands.

[sighs and keeps watching, just in case he does fall. not that she'd admit that.]

[he continues to clamber upwards - almost losing his glasses out of his pocket in the process from his acrobat stunts - and eventually makes it to the top of the tree, sill clinging on for dear life (sorta. at least, he's making an effort. No regeneration by tree falling, thanks), and starts to look around the area.]

.... that's interesting.

[don't make Light come up there and bring you down :|]

What is?

[he ponders for a minute, swaying, before pointing to his left, towards the sea.] That way, is the beach-- but all I can see beyond that is the sea. And on all other sides, there's endless trees. Right up the to horizon. With of course, that mountain overe there, but I can't see beyond that.

That's all? No other landmarks or defining features?

None. [he pulls a face.] And considering the world has apparantly morphed into the typical features of an island....

Guess even that would've been too much to hope for.

...Are you coming down? [Concerned? Lightning? Naaah. She just wants the idiot to get out of the tree, okay.]

It's obviously not planning on giving an easy way out.

... well, I actually quite like the non-existant breeze that is ruffling my hair, but if you insist. [grinning, he gingerly makes his way from the top back to being face to face with bark, shimmying back down the tree.]

[she walks to the base of the tree and watches him climb down. not that she's waiting in case she has to catch him. of course not. really.]

The mountain would give a better view of the whole island.

[Ten makes it almost to the bottom, then leaps off sideways, to land like a graceful cat on all fours - but fails, pretty much, as he lands on two feet and stumbles forward. He 'tsks' and shakes his head, but continues grinning anyway.]

It would. That would involve going to climb it, mind.

Then that's what I'll do.

[she abruptly turns and disappears through the trees. hope you can keep up, ten.]
