Well, it actually makes sense. Strange, huge place, suddenly happens overnight, lots of things that he can smell and hear as well as see-- what better place to see it all than from the top of a tree? Nowhere.]
[oh come on Lightning, you can't deny the logic! IT'S FOOLPROOF!]
I'm not. Well, not planning to fall to begin with, but if I do, I've got good reflexes. Doctors always land on their two feet. ... well, cats. Which I'm not. But the point stands.

No regeneration by tree falling, thanks), and starts to look around the area.]
[he ponders for a minute, swaying, before pointing to his left, towards the sea.] That way, is the beach-- but all I can see beyond that is the sea. And on all other sides, there's endless trees. Right up the to horizon. With of course, that mountain overe there, but I can't see beyond that.
It's obviously not planning on giving an easy way out.

[he turns back to the tree, clims a couple more inches, but then stops, and adds,]
Well, actually, trying to get to the top to see where we are. It's the best place to look from- somewhere high.
