This is in response to a big local news story about a Facebook group that was created to be anti-another student.
Dear parents,
If your kid is in school, he/she is being bullied. It's a fact of life. You went through it, your parents went through it, and so forth. We've all been assholes to someone before and made them feel bad.
Stop blaming the schools for bullying. It is the school's job to make sure that your kid doesn't get beat up in school. It is not their job to be cyberpolice and make sure that kids aren't tweeting, facebooking, or otherwise bullying your child outside of school.
If your kid kills themselves, it's because they had pre-existing mental and/or emotional problems, not because of the bullying. Be better parents and stop expecting other people to care about your child as much as you do.
