(larp) The one, and only, thing that I'm unhappy with regarding Conclave

The Assamite talks/votes is the one thing I'm unhappy with. People loaned 60+ standing to Paul Walker, and he was only a handful behind Restax. If Paul Walker had six personal standing, instead of one, he likely would have tied or passed him ( Read more... )

I would have suggested doing concurent votes, with the various options available, to allow for the "Inner Council" the most available choices.

For instance
Prop #1: Remove PSM
Prop #2: Assamite's can be Prince or Seneschal
Prop #3: The Confessional to the Justicar's
Prop #4: If Prop #1 passes, is it globally done, or is it done individually per Prince
etc. etc. etc.

That could work, but can you think of a way to do it without dragging out the voting process?

Yes. Run them concurrently. i.e. all of them at the same time.

Prop #1 is the main one, with each sucessive proposal being contingent upon that one passing.

That could work. See if you can berate Council into letting it happen just to shut you up :)

Personally, I think that's pretty lame. And I'd be saying this if I wasn't on the "winning" side. In fact, I did after Conclave 2006 ( ... )

Princehood lost its relevancy a long time ago. Archons and Justicars are the kinds of the camarilla, and Princes are more like Seneschal-local than Princes.

The status thing . . . here we have a broken problem. The status being loaned should matter. Not to pick on Paul Walker (who I don't know from Adam), but if he's a probationary sect member, everyone who lent status should be even now getting stripped.

At the end of the day, though, the IC decision changes Genre. I can see Council getting to weigh in on that, and whether they want their genre changed.

NOT giving them that opportunity leads to teh same thing that eradicated the importance of Princes -- IC actions unchecked and unexamined.

For the record, Paul is not a PSM, and wasn't during Conclave.

Since when has politics cared that some people didn't know what they were voting for? Or that they were lured into supporting something they didn't want to? Or that they just didn't get the issues? It doesn't in real life and we're supposedly playing in the world of darkness.

There were four options on the floor. And then OOC we were told it was a yes/no question, but not what the question was. 200 standing said "this is an acceptable option" and apparently, it wasn't even on the table to vote for. Say what???

Politics ALWAYS cares what the QUESTION is. Whether or not people understand the question may be a live issue, but you have to be able to say WHAT THE QUESTION IS!

That's my biggest issue. I've proposed an IC fix to the OOC fuckup. But it was, I can't make this clearer, an OOC fuckup. Based on what I understand (essentially) the results are, it just, thankfully, one that's solvable.
