(larp) The one, and only, thing that I'm unhappy with regarding Conclave

Nov 10, 2008 21:52

The Assamite talks/votes is the one thing I'm unhappy with. People loaned 60+ standing to Paul Walker, and he was only a handful behind Restax. If Paul Walker had six personal standing, instead of one, he likely would have tied or passed him ( Read more... )

There seemed to have been a disconnect on what concessions had been made and how that might affect the vote. How might that've happened?

I would say that certain Coords failed to talk to other Coords, because Dan K and I didn't know what was going on with the votes until 10:45pm the night of Conclave (when the votes were due in at 10:30, but we were in the back room trying to figure out what the heck was going on).

Also, there were certain Coords who refused to accept anything other than a yes or no ballot. I mentioned the Brujah position on the Coord list, at the Coord meeting at Origins, and at the Coord on the Friday of the Conclave event, and apparently some of the other Coords decided to just ignore it because they didn't like it. Terra straight up told me that she refused to accept it as an option.

I also attempted to get the docket/options hashed out ahead of time as well (several times over the months prior to the event, as well as at the pre-game Coord meeting).

The end request that I got was for ballots that could ICly be traced back to individual PC's, and to leave the voting options blank.

If there's a way that Council can step in and has things out on fixing the genre/miscommunication clusterfuck, I'd be all for it. As it stands, the whole thing had the feel of a lot of strong personalities that used the time limitations and lack of talking to push their individual agendas thorugh, rather than try to work as a cohesive team.

Heh. Don't get me started about how Terra acted at the Columbus Conclave.

I as HST did not know what was going on with anything because no one was keepign me in the loop and the various Coords were running off and doing their own thing.

There was a lack of communication with eachother and with me.

I have a really poor taste in my mouth about the outcome, and about the possibility that realistic IC fallout will be upheld.

The Harpies were *right there* with the status records. They weren't allowed to have the status of the speakers brought up as people went to the podium. This subsequently has been used as the excuse why Lucinde and Petronius roasted Paul Walker - because they were ignorant of the status that was loaned to him.

If the Coord and actor ignored the attempts to get the status announced, then the Justicar ICly either forgot or blatently ignored protocol. At least, that's my feelings on it.

If they really cared to know, then they could have blown politics. I'm certain every NPC at the table had enough.

If they didn't bother to check, then they should suffer the full brunt of the IC consequences.

They had a table of 3 fuming Harpy players that were trying to prod them with "hey.... you need to know this stuff".

I had to play liason in that... it was after that point which I started drinking hardcore.

Some ignored, others refused. As a ST, if a player in my game pulls that, they get IC consequences. Coord characters should be the same way.

One of my final acts that I would LOVE to do before stepping down as HST is gather together the various Harpy players (both presiding and visiting/observing), get the Cam Coord, and hash out potential ideas of IC consequences... and then tell the respective Clan Coords to sit, not speak, and let T. Doug do his job :)
