Legalization of Prostitution

I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to class and they were discussing the legalization of prostitution. Almost every caller was against it for one reason or another, but here are the top reasons:

The radio personality is married with children!
I find this to be an irrelevant argument. The man isn't taking up the position of advocate because he, personally, wishes to employ a prostitute. He was speaking in a hypothetical manner about how a man could, in general, benefit from such. People just couldn't let it go, though. I will sigh at the stupidity of humanity later.

If you don't want your daughter to do it, there must be something wrong with it!
I don't want my daughter to be a garbage man, or work in a fast food restaurant (as an adult), or be a school custodian, or perform numerous other menial labor jobs. This doesn't make those jobs "wrong," I just want better for my daughter (if I hypothetically had one).

Nobody wants to do it, they're forced into it!
Incorrect. There are women out there who want to do it. Many are forced into it, sure, but if it were a legal career option, and wasn't such a taboo, I'm sure more people would become interested/act on existing interest than currently do. The bunny ranch and numerous high roller escort societies get their women from the ones who aren't drug addicts who do it to get their next fix, or gang women forced into it by their gang.

Health Reasons
Safe sex should be practiced by everyone. Legalizing prostitution would allow for the implementation of weekly/monthly testing and various other health oversights to make it just as safe, and perhaps safer, than having sex with random college/bar person X.

It's exploiting women!
Currently? Yes, it is very exploitative because it's an illegal activity and involves a lot of shady people. If it were to become a legitimate business, there would be various employment regulations, like Human Resources, OSHA, and legal recourse (since it would be a legitimate business affair).

I don't see legalized prostitution being any more exploitative than any number of other professions, such as teaching and IT personnel. Anyone who's worked in "Corporate America" for more than two years knows how exploitative the business world is, but that's a rant for another day.
