Nick Wolven, one of my awesome Clarion 2007 classmates, has
done it again. He has another story in Asimov's... the August 2010 issue. (At this rate, I may have to subscribe. The July 2010 issue has a story by my marvelous writing-grouper, Aliette de Bodard: The Jaguar House, in Shadow.)
Nick wrote On the Horizon as a Clarion admission piece, since "at the time I didn't have anything that was short enough." It got him into Clarion, no surprise. "This is the only story where I've had an exchange with the editor discussing changes and edits. So it's been critiqued by all our Clarion instructors, by my writing group, and by Sheila Williams..."
Good going, Nick!
