Hee! *feels honoured* Look for the newer fics though, the really old ones are different. I kinda like "Yoghurt" as well though.

I know the feeling of not liking old fics anymore ;) I'll check out Yoghurt!

Lol! Yeah well, I guess in my case it's due to bad!English, different!!!!style of writing, BAAAAAD!plot lines, and all that sort of things. And improval? I think?

Exactly the same reasons are valid for me! I totally get you :)

When I look at what I wrote when I started (other fandoms), I often wrote my men way too soft. Oh my. And the plots - let's not even mention them.

Goooood! ^^ Unlike some English Lit. fans over on JhP, I suppose? Who comment about the DRAMATIC quality of writing *sigh* as if they're that much better, native or not.

Lol! At least you can shove it off onto "other fandoms"! I CANT even write in a different fandom! (okay. I haven't actually TRIED to write Merlin!fic, but that's beside the matter... that plot is pretty cracktastic as well actually).

I think there's good and bad in every fandom. And hey, taste differs. There are, of course pet peeves I have, too (like totally OOC or really bad research or whatnot), but writing style is just, well, a matter of taste.

Ah well, I can't even say I've ever written in Beatles fandom. Why, I don't know. I'm rather outsider-ish (I was way more into ot in the early days of my internet adventures, probably even in mky pre-slash era... what a waste of time, really).

The funny thing is, I know a lot of people from all kinds of fandoms, and many of them are one-fandom-people (writers, readers, whatever), but even the strictest ones have tried Merlin as their second fandom. Personally, Merlin didn't work for me, but that's another matter.

Crack, on the other hand, is always fantastic.

Oh yeah, that IS true! And I agree with you about writing style. Though I also think that it doesn't mean you should avoid a writer because you don't like his/her writing style at one point - he/she might change a taste in style as well ( ... )

You make a good thing concerning the writer and not giving up on them too fast. Very true. Writing's all about developing, after all, isn't it? At least for the good one, lol.

And haha, yes, the ways fandom catches you can be really funny sometimes. Somebody should analyse that one day.
