So Terry and I were headed out to dinner a couple of nights ago, and when we got to the bottom of the driveway, we noticed that one of our trees seemed.....a little shorter than usual.
Apparently someone decided that our tree would look just perfect in their living room this Christmas, so they chainsawed it and hauled it away. And evidently they did it in broad daylight when both of us were home.....I guess that's the problem with having a house so far back from the road, and with living on a not-very-heavily-traveled road. But seriously.....who the hell does that? Just steals a damn tree out of someone's yard? Sheesh.
Oh well, on the bright side, (1) it's not really our problem since we're still renting, (2) there are still probably six thousand other trees on the property, and (3) it'll probably make it easier to find our house......"Yeah, just look for the grey metal mailbox across from the sawed-off evergreen tree."
And it's probably better that I didn't catch the guy in the act....I probably would've gone all My Fucking Bush on him, which is probably not a good idea when a dude's armed with a chainsaw.
