Friday night I went to Tom & his girlfriend's farewell drinks. They had them at one of those trendy-type bars (this one was just near the Vic Market). Well, you know you're out-of-place somewhere when you open the door and enter only to have everyone within sight of the door stare at you as if you're the baddie in an old western movie (you know what I'm talking about - where the music stops and everyone just stares at the bad guy). The only difference was that in this instance the music didn't stop playing. And, no, I wasn't dressed weirdly - just black jeans & a t-shirt.

Anyway, as much as I like T, I don't care too much for his girlfriend & almost all of their friends - they're all way too-cool-for-school. Bleurgh. Anyway, I spoke to one of Tom's friends (who I'd met 2 years ago at the Pink Grease gig) and then spoke briefly to a very nice girl who was actually one of T's g/f's friends. But it got so bad in the end that I ended up just reading a copy of InPress that was lying around, even though I'd read it two days earlier at work. I finished my beer, said a quick goodbye to T & pushed off home, just in time to catch a very good episode of the American version "Who's Line is it Anyway?". My favourite bit was when they had to do an infomercial on a box set of cds full of horror songs. "Ho-rror" Highlarious.

Saturday I went to the movies to see "The Nightmare Before Christmas" 3-D. I love that film, so I enjoyed it but there weren't all that many places where the 3-D was really obvious. There were about 10 other people in the cinema including one kid that would not shut up & I though if he doesn't shut up during the film I'll be really pissed. Well, there are still miracles in this world because as soon as the lights went down I didn't hear another peep out of him until the lights came back up at the end. Congratulations to his parents for teaching him to be quiet during films! It was great.

Saturday afternoon I made some gingerbread cookies and I used the halloween cookie cutters my sister sent me. I iced a few, but by the time I got to that stage I was fed up with looking at cookies so I didn't get very far.

Saturday night I went to my Dad's for dinner & left them the cookies I'd made earlier and then went on to the Birmy. A few bands were playing for some girl's birthday & as one of the bands was Slick, I figured I'd go down. Alyssa wasn't there (she was ill apparently) but Flea was so we had a good chat. Turns out Flea also saw that episode of "Who's Line is it Anyway" because she started talking about "ho-rror". It was brilliant. We tried to explain it to Owen, but he was looking at us like we were loonies. He did well to put up with us carrying on, though, so kudos to him! Flea & me are going to have a knitting/drinking/movies night soon so we spent some time deciding on what movies to watch. We ended up deciding on "Rocky Horror Picture Show" because we both love Tim Curry as Frank-n-furter; "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" because Flea likes it & I haven't seen it yet; and "Dawn of the Dead" - again, Flea likes it & I haven't seen it yet.
