It ain’t where I’ve been... but where I’m bout to go

I can’t even remember the last time I updated you all with something real.  Life has been nothing less than interesting over the past few weeks/months.  Just to recap for those who haven’t been keeping up with my status messages on here & Facebook,  I’m in the final leg of what I’m calling "Lin’s Q1 Relationship Tour 2008"  Over the past 3 weeks I have been in Nashville, Phoenix, and I’m coming to you live from my hotel room in Chicago.  This tour has also included a side trip to Mountain Top Camp where I am volunteering next month. (Hey... Lin love da kids).  I feel kind of bad cause I think my own team at work thinks my out of office sends them more emails than I do at times.  I know some of my friends do.  Although do I feel bad?  No.  For each person who has made jokes about it, there are those who have been with me each step of the way and I appreciate that more than you know.  So it’s time for some updates...

Pops:  I wish I could tell you that he is doing better.  I wish that I could tell you that when I get back this weekend, he and I are going out to play 18 for the first time in over a year.  That is also why they call it wishing.  Reality is that the cancer is spreading.  Does it suck, yes it does.  Although all differences that we ever had aside, I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud to call that man my Father.  Even before the Super Bowl when he was back in the hospital, he has never had a negative thing to say about this whole thing and has just been an inspiration.  Folks ask how I can always keep a positive attitude?  I say look to that man right there.  I know he’s not the first, and he is not going to be the last to fight this, but he is the only Father I have and I wouldn’t change that for anything.  Of course as always those of you who have kept him in your thoughts and prayers, I thank you and I have been praying everyday that you all are blessed in one way or another.

Work:  Forget what I was telling you about all the traveling... I have hiring to do.  Anybody know somebody who is looking for a job?  Espiecally in the realm of sales support, if so please let me know (message me) and I’ll send them the posting to the position I am hiring for.  I’m looking to have 1, possibly 2 folks to start in 3 weeks.

Everything Else:  I’ve learned that I need to recommit myself to some of my goals.  It has appeared I’ve made to many excuses for some and it needs to stop.  I blame nobody but me, however I need to learn when to push back on somethings and push back hard!

I am very glad to say that we have picked up in Softball where we left off.  Currently my team is on a 10 game winning streak dating back to last year the most recent one, 10 runs in the final 2 innings... all with 2 outs.  Once again... Attitude is everything.

Over all, life is good... Keep saying it enough, and you’ll believe it... And people will believe you as you say it... I’m an example ;-)
